From 2011-2014, the concept development, piloting, evaluation, and refinement of CALTA21 was made possible by a National Leadership Grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services. IMLS selected CALTA21 and nine other projects for funding through its National Leadership Grant program. The projects selected for funding were identified through a peer-review process as examples of those that would have a national impact in the museum field and serve as models to museums across the nation. A complete list of projects funded through this program can be found at www.imls.gov.
The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 123,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. The Institute’s mission is to create strong libraries and museums that connect people to information and ideas.
