At the White House

On June 11, 2013 I had the privilege of attending a Champions of Change Awards Ceremony at the White House as a nominee. The award and corresponding ceremony, recognizing Americans with innovative ideas who are making a difference in their communities, brought together a diverse group of community organizers and leaders. It was a pleasure to listen to all the honorees share the initiatives that represent their efforts in bringing systemic change to their institutions. As a true believer in the public value of museums and libraries, I appreciate IMLS’ efforts in creating opportunities to make visible the impact that our institutions can have in society and in people’s lives. Thanks to IMLS and to the White House for the Champions of Change initiative!
